In nature, sometimes two storms double down on the same spot. We have no choice but to deal with the problem.
In life, humans double down all the time when they don’t achieve what they desire even though they have a choice.
Most people try something new like exercise or diet. Then they stumble a little during the process, get upset at themselves or use it as an excuse to keep sabotaging, or say “I’ve failed today, I’ll start again tomorrow”.
In doing that, they are doubling down on what they don’t want and in doing so, are creating a habit of justified and rewarding failure. All this does is continue the pattern of exactly what they don’t want to do.
Focus on doubling down on what is working best, not on what isn’t. You always have a choice.
